Life, Death, Birth and Renewal

Afternoon Delight – Preening
Common as a robin
Another afternoon delight -elephant wash
Recycling seeds left in elephant dung
Hippos staying cool. They graze at night
Hyenas took away the kill that was just made by this leopard
Chewing on guts of an impala. The hyenas got the good stuff.
The jackals barking led us to the leopard killl. They will wait around to clean up leftovers. Nothing goes to waste.

Renewal
We came upon this mother impala who had just given birth.
The mother shows constant monitoring of the surroundings.
First time baby is on his feet.
The birds riding on this giraffe are helping it out by eating insects on its body.
Safety in numbers

  1. Amazing photos of animals! How close were you to them? The warmth of the photos is a nice change from the snowy scenery here. Although there is beauty in snow as well – just not the warmth!
