One Way Ticket

(Well keep going east till we’re home)

ONE WAY TICKET

(We plan to go east till we get to Eau Claire)

Both Chuck and I have traveled quite a bit. Mostly trips of 2-3 weeks. There are still so many places to go. This time we decided to link all of those places with shorter flights in between. We have been making flight reservations totally with one way tickets. That feels a little weird at first, but we’re excited to get started on the journey.

The picture above is from our trip to Belize. That was a great trip. The picture also reminds me of a little snafu which occurred on that trip. We arrived in Belize 11 days before my luggage. The clothes I’m wearing in that picture were purchased from a lady we found out on her lawn in the small village we were staying in. She had a pile of used clothing on a card table. For 11 days I wore that pair of shorts and a T-shirt I got from her along with the clothes I had worn on the airplane coming down. It makes your decision of what to wear very simple. We expect that this trip will be no different as to surprises we may experience.

We begin our journey on November 16 when we fly to Boston and spend two days with Chuck’s son, John, and his wife, Kate. From there, it’s onto the Azores.

We hope that you will enjoy hearing what we are experiencing and will leave a comment or two with reactions and suggestions.

  14. What a gift for me to be with you on your last day, seated with you two on the Amtrak … and hearing Chuck relate his gymnastics routine to get into the top bunk.

being able to talk about life journeys, reinventing yourselves, staying fresh and open to ideas, seeing the world in a new way, believing the best about people you meet in the world … the lessons you learned, you’re still teaching to this nearly/hopefully soon retired gu and his wife. We will go through your blog together.

    Many blessings to you both
