(We are going east till we get back to Eau Claire)

We’ve both traveled quite a bit and know that along with the good times some snafus may occur. Our first travel together saw a car break down in Roswell, New Mexico. It resulted in two extra days there. Making lemonade of that one found us at a great art museum and attending a delightful play at a local theater. We also learned a lot about aliens from outer space. This picture reminds me of the trip to Belize when my luggage arrived 11 days after we did. Because we were in a very small town, I couldn’t buy any clothes. We did find a woman with a card table out in her lawn selling used clothing. I wore this pair of pink shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt purchased on the lawn along with the clothes I wore traveling down for 11 days. It was easy deciding what to wear each day. And then there was the bus ride from hell we experienced going from Guatemala back to Belize. We survived that one. We are beginning this trip knowing that all will not go as planned and that whatever happens, we will adapt. It will be a grand adventure.

We will start this journey November 16 with a flight to Boston where we will spend two days with Chuck’s son, John, and his wife, Kate. Then it’s on to the Azores. We hope that you will be with us on our journey and share comments and suggestions with us!
